Akira Shinonome is one of the main characters in the anime series, Train to the End of the World. Akira is seen as a highly intelligent student that is usually kept to herself and withdrawn. She, with her friends, Shizuru, Nadeshiko and Reimi set off in an abandoned passenger train to Ikebukuro to find their long lost friend, Yoka Nakatomi.
